“Encounters” is a video installation that examines how the dense and constant flow of urban life creates countless moments of shared space and fleeting proximity without real connection. It observes how individuals navigate the structures and signals of the city, moving alongside others in a choreography that is at once collective and isolating. By focusing on these brief intersections, the work explores how the unnoticed and routine aspects of daily life shape our perception of the people around us. It suggests that the city is built as much on what goes unseen or unacknowledged as on direct interactions.

This artwork aims to reflect on the silent systems that shape how we relate to others, and how, even amid crowds and constant movement, the city can remain a place of profound distance and disconnection. It considers how the unnoticed flows and structures of urban life reveal a paradox: a place full of potential encounters that rarely become connections, where proximity does not necessarily lead to belonging.
