ARTWORK
ABOUT
Yijiang is a video artist whose practice explores the intersections of image, text, and moving image. At the core of his work lies an inquiry into the shifting relationships between visual and linguistic systems, and how meaning is transformed across cultural and media contexts. He is particularly interested in the ambivalence between sign, reference, and interpretation — and how these can be exposed through deliberate shifts in perspective.
His artistic approach is informed by a critical view of visual narratives and their social encoding. Rather than referencing past experiences in media – related and curatorial fields directly, Yijiang incorporates them as expanded ways of understanding reception, mediation, and visual construction. This multiperspectival position allows him to question established visual logics and propose new symbolic configurations.
Yijiang is currently studying Fine Arts at the University of the Arts Bremen and has participated in various group exhibitions and art education projects. His works function as analytical image spaces in which language, image, and meaning are deliberately set into unstable relations — not to resolve ambiguity, but to make complexity visible.
